Water Heater Services for Tank and Tankless Units
Our water heater services cover repair, replacement, and new installs for gas and electric units, tank or tankless. We find out why the hot water quit, tell you straight whether a repair will hold, and give you the price before any work starts.
Repair, replace, or install
A water heater heats and stores the water for every shower, sink, and appliance in the building, so when it quits you notice fast. Water heaters are part of our plumbing services, and we fix what can be fixed before we talk about replacing anything.
Diagnosis
We find out why the hot water quit, from a failed thermostat or element to sediment, a bad gas valve, or a worn thermocouple.
Tank repair
Gas and electric tank heaters get repaired when the tank itself is sound, so you get more years out of the unit you have.
Tankless service
Descaling, sensor and part repairs, and error code troubleshooting for tankless units, including high-demand units at restaurants and other commercial plumbing sites.
Replacement and installs
New tank or tankless units set with earthquake straps, a proper relief valve line, and venting and gas connections checked.
Maintenance
Sediment flushes, anode rod changes, and relief valve tests that slow rust and keep the unit running longer.
Old unit hauled away
When we replace a water heater, we drain the old one and take it with us, so it is not left sitting in your garage.
Which type fits your house?
A tank heater keeps a supply of hot water ready. A tankless unit heats water as it flows through. Neither one is right for every home.
We help you decide on site, based on how much hot water you use at once, whether you have gas or electric service, and where the unit can go. Flip between the two to compare.
What is your water heater doing?
Pick the closest match to see the usual cause and what we check first. No hot water at all, or a heater flooding the garage, is a job for emergency plumbing. Water on the floor and not sure it is the heater? Leak detection finds the source.
On a gas unit, a pilot that will not stay lit often points to a bad thermocouple or gas valve. On an electric unit, a tripped breaker or a burned-out element is the usual cause. A tankless unit shows an error code that tells us where to start.
What happens on a water heater call
What shapes the price of water heater work
You get an upfront price before any work starts, after we have seen the unit and where it sits. These are the things that change it from one job to the next.
If a repair will get you several more good years, we say so. If the tank is rusting through, putting parts on it is money you will not get back.
Hard water, salt air, and older garages
Water heaters across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties wear out for a few local reasons. Each one changes the upkeep and the install.
Sediment and scale
Most of Ventura County gets hard water. It drops sediment in tank heaters and coats the heat exchanger in tankless units, so flushing and descaling come up more often here.
Rust on the outside
Near the ocean, salt air corrodes gas connections, water lines, and vent caps on units in garages and outdoor closets. We use fittings that stand up to it.
Tight closets, old venting
Older houses often have small heater closets, old vent pipe, and gas lines sized for a small tank. A tankless upgrade there usually needs gas and venting work.
Water heater questions
The questions people ask us most when the hot water goes cold or it is time to replace the unit.
Yes. Our water heater services cover gas and electric units, both tank and tankless. We repair, replace, and install all of them.
Water leaking from the tank itself, rusty hot water that comes back after a flush, and a unit near the end of its normal life all point to replacement. A bad thermostat, element, or valve can usually be repaired. We check it on site and tell you which way makes sense.
Tank heaters often last around 8 to 12 years. Tankless units often last around 15 to 20 years with regular descaling. Hard water shortens both, which is why flushing and descaling matter so much here.
In most homes, yes. A gas tankless unit often needs a larger gas line and new venting, and an electric one needs enough electrical capacity. We look at all of that before we give you the upfront price.
Yes. Our crews run from the shop in Oxnard to homes and businesses across both counties. Much of Ventura County has hard water, so we flush and descale on water heater services wherever the unit needs it.
